3D ideas for stop motion animation

Previously  I write about stop motion using two dimensional idea. Now let see if some thought and tip using three Dimensional idea can help you create another good Animations.

Clay or play-doh or just a simple dough from flour, salt, and water as the materials. This material can easily shape into figures and object. The other technique is to use wire or a wire armature, so it can hold its shape well and can easily change the shape to manipulate into simulation of motion. Very simply yet very expressive technique, so effective that many modern figures are often frame with this technique.

Any three-dimensional object can be use in interesting ways. Add some small eyes, noses, mouth on this object and come an interesting anthropomorphic little project. Other object like carve vegetables such as apples, potatoes can be the source of some interesting videos. Dolls and action figures are  great animation subjects as  they have movable body parts  and joints. A stop motion about a chair  moving  around in a room, or  watching some items moving around on the desk can also be a good idea and  interesting to watch.

Animating yourself can also be fun. Do some stand at attention then take a picture, move your body six inches forward  then take another picture, after you can come up with a great series of pictures that show how you can magically sliding around the room without moving your feet. Other idea like animation that shows someone floating around somewhere can also be created by  do the same thing. Jumping into the air than  snap a picture of it, after move six inches forward, jump again, and snap another picture.

Two dimensional animation ideas for stop motion animation

A very creative hobby like Stop Motion Animation is inexpensive to start out. A few ideas, a digital camera, and  some basic software are what you need. Hope that some thoughts and tips can help to get your creativity flowing.

To think outside the box, realize that anything will become a good subject, any medium will work well is necessary when doing some kind of animation.

May be draw pictures  on a separate sheet of  papers and re draw or erase it to make some movement already familiar.  Other alternate is a photograph the drawing series  individually. The result is extraordinary but, it is challenging to make the images stay tracked cleanly so,  it would not become shaky and jerky.

A good way to draw pictures using this method  is to use some kind of an erasable surface that tends to be easier than drawing pictures on paper. The dry erase board and the chalkboard are the excellent one. Using this medium make it is very easy to erase portions of your drawing and redraw the motions.  If you have some skill in drawing, using a dry erase board recommended   for getting some great  animations.

Cutting the drawing images of figures and objects and using them in animations is an excellent way to get creative and expressive animations. Two important additions can be add to this style. Cut the drawing into segments to show motion can make it easier. An example, draw a bear  form, next  cut it into its different parts; head, arms, legs, and torso. With this way  can move the part individually much as a bear moves. The other  way to enhance cut out drawings is shown motion or rotation by using  multiple drawings of the same object. The face would be a good  example of this. Draw multiple faces  as one with the eyes open and one with the eyes closed  so whit this way it  can simulate a blinking of the eyes.

Create stop motion animations activity with children

Looking at my child’s interest for a variety of stop motion animation is often seen on youtube. I am wondering whether to try to make your own story with the toys they had, and he was very enthusiastic. Then I start looking for how.

To create a stop motion animation with toys like Lego, or action figures need to have Windows Movie Maker. When you get  it by download, it is recommended by Microsoft to download Windows Live Suite. Will be slimmed down version from the old Movie Maker, but for simple animation its enough. If become  more serious  try Movie Maker version 2.6.

After taking pictures with a camera and imported into Windows and then save in a specific folder. Then open Windows Movie Maker and select the Home tab (it should be the default option) and then select Add Videos and Photos. Click the first image to your animation and then press Shift and click on the last picture for the animation to be made. All images can be import at once and  will put in the order you took them.

Press play. Then each image was going to play about 5 seconds. Of course, still not good enough for the size of a moving animation. Using the same method Click / Shift-Click  select all images as appear in the window next to the screen that plays video. Select the Edit tab and go to the Duration box.Drop down menus Will give you a choice of duration for each frame, ranging from one second and can be  specify on a lower amount. I put in 0:10 for the duration.

Now you can add title to the animation by choosing the first frame of the Home tab and use the Title and Caption option. Use the Visual Effects t fade into your first animation frame to make  things moving smoothly and then do the same until the end of the animation.

Adding music is simple. Just go back to the Home tab, select Add and then select MP3 Music option. Save your project often, especially if a large file. Then to make your movie file, next  select the Publish option by clicking the icon at the top right corner. Can also choose to publish directly to YouTube or save in various formats.

Make a simple stop motion animation with Windows 7 is easy and fast. Children will be very happy with this activity.
